Catch up with Trevor, our Senior Art Director

It’s employee spotlight time and starting today we’re beginning a new spotlight series where we’ll be revisiting some of our team members who have been with us for a while. First up is Trevor. We’ve asked Trevor some interesting questions and he provided even more interesting answers…

If you could learn to do anything, what would it be?

If I could learn to do anything it would be to have command of multiple languages, better known as a polyglot. That would be nice to have the ability to converse with people in their language no matter what country I visit.

If you won the lottery, what is the first thing you would do?

I would hire an attorney and set up an LLC and then consult a CPA and certified financial planner to determine how we want to structure the lottery payout and how we will plan our lives following receipt of the lottery proceeds. It’s all about anonymity I’ve obviously had dreams of winning before!

When you have 30 minutes of free time, how do you pass the time?

During a workday, it would be to go on a walk with my wife to just get away from the desk.

If you could be any fictional character, who would you choose?

Since it’s fictional I would like to combine 3 characters. Sherlock Holmes – his eccentricity along with his amazing intellect and deduction skills. Bugs Bunny – he’s quick-witted, funny, intelligent, and effortlessly cool. The single greatest cartoon character ever! And finally, Superman – his strength and ability to fly. Who wouldn’t like to be able to fly?

What’s your favorite indoor/outdoor activity?

To this day I still love to play soccer.

What chore do you absolutely hate doing?

Cleaning floors is an easy choice.

If you could meet anyone, living or dead, who would you meet?

Bill Murray.

What three traits define you?

Loyal, honest, and confident

What would you do (for a career) if you weren’t doing this?

If I weren’t doing this, I would have loved to be a carpenter. I like that it is both technical and creative. There is so much beauty in the craft of working with wood, tools, and your hands and taking dead wood and bringing it to life.

What would you most like to tell yourself at age 13?

I would tell myself to work hard for whatever you want to do or be in life no matter how hard it seems to attain your goals. I would also say to always be yourself.

What is your favorite thing about working at Sassafras?

It’s unlike any other company I’ve worked for in that it really feels like you are working for and with friends. I truly enjoy coming to work every day. In this case, waking up and walking to my office downstairs, ha.
