October is upon us and the folks at Sassafras Marketing are gearing up for our next team retreat and meeting in Kansas City! Since our team is virtual, we really value our team meetings. (Read more about our remote work structure here.) These meetings are a great opportunity for the team to put our heads together and collaborate on new and innovative marketing and storytelling solutions, review the state of the agency and plan for the future. Even though we talk and see (via computer) each other multiple times a day – it’s really nice to get together and make the magic happen in person! We will be traveling from Kentucky, North Carolina, Georgia, Florida and Kansas!
While the collaboration, thoughtware and work is fantastic, we like to throw a little, or a lot, of fun in the mix! Our last meeting highlighted a few “can’t miss” KC things, including a tour of the American Jazz Museum in the historic 18th & Vine district, some delicious Kansas City BBQ along with some fun team-building events. CEO and Sassafras founder Jenny Holton always does a great job of setting the tone for a productive yet fun environment! We’ve hosted some great guest speakers, eaten more delicious food than we care to recount and really just enjoyed each other’s company…all while learning, working and doing in the most creative, butt-kicking ways possible! We’ve found that these meetings are a win-win: we feel re-energized and invigorated as a team…and our clients benefit too!
This meeting also marks the first team meeting for Sassafras newbies Jessie Devine and Becky Duncan, both Account Managers. We can’t wait to formally welcome them and recognize the great things they’ve done to date! Welcome again to the team, Jessie and Becky- and welcome to KC, Sassafras crew!
