It’s March – and We Celebrate National Women’s History Month

March is Women’s History Month, and we feel especially honored to mark the month because frankly, we realize that strong, passionate women are all around us and serve as the backbone for this company’s success!  Our Sassafras Marketing founder and CEO, Jenny Holton has seen her company grow to multiple employees in multiple states.  She skillfully manages our talented crew and has made working remotely a reality, and it’s one we cherish!

The theme for National Women’s History Month 2017  is “Honoring Trailblazing Women in Labor and Business” and it honors women who have successfully challenged the role of women in both business and the paid labor force. Women have always worked, but often their work has been undervalued and unpaid.

Jenny empowers everyone on our team to do their best work, in the most creative way possible.  We are given the tools and freedom we need to exceed our clients’ expectations, every single time. She has built a supportive, encouraging, positive work environment.  Hats off to Jenny and the other strong women in our lives–this includes our family, friends, work colleagues and more!

About Women’s History Month

Women’s History Month had its origins as a national celebration in 1981 when Congress authorized and requested the President to proclaim the week beginning March 7, 1982 as “Women’s History Week.”  Between 1988 and 1994, Congress passed additional resolutions requesting and authorizing the President to proclaim March of each year as Women’s History Month. Since 1995, Presidents Clinton, Bush and Obama have issued a series of annual proclamations designating the month of March as “Women’s History Month.”
