Meet Shannon Redding, Sassafras Art Director

Say Hello to Shannon!

Artists, creatives, account managers…you’ll find them all at Sassafras Marketing! Our amazing team includes folks like Art Director Shannon Redding, who has been with us for 6 months. Shannon calls Ponte Vedra Beach, FL (“Jax” to the locals) home and is one of our “Southeast” Sassy team members. She is our hard-working, laid-back, beach-going, tapas-loving, wine-drinking girl and we love having her on our team!

What do you like most about working at Sassafras?

The people. I can’t say it enough; the people are so great. Everyone is quirky and unique in their own way. It makes for such a great team and an awesome team dynamic!

Your hometown postcard—what’s on it?

I live near an Intracoastal bridge outside of Jacksonville in Ponte Vedra Beach, FL. We love everything local here! You’ll see people wearing Jaguar teal to support our local football team. My postcard would definitely include golf… this town is golf crazy! Players, carts, tee time talk, attire are all fair game since we host The Players at the beautiful TPC Sawgrass course. My postcard would include craft breweries, dining outdoors, beach cruisers, sand, waves, flip flops, festivals and friendly hellos! Ponte Vedra Beach combines the southern welcoming feel with the laid-back beach vibe. People love being outside and having a good time here.  It’s great!

Who is your hero and why?

My grandma. I was recently forced to really reflect upon her life, and I realized that she was such a strong, independent woman. This was even before being a strong, independent woman was celebrated in pop culture and memorialized in song! She never let age slow her down, loved all her grandchildren so deeply, was a woman of strong faith, socially active, stylish and healthy. These are all character traits I hope to carry on in my life!

What book are you reading right now?

Originals by Adam Grant.

Name an interesting thing about yourself that others might not know.

I was once voted the superlative of Best Sense of Humor. By nature, I’m an observer and listener, so I can come across as being reserved or quiet, especially when I first meet someone. But anyone who knows me really well knows that I love a good sarcastic banter, a great practical joke and laughing til I literally can’t breathe!

What is your favorite website or app?

The Amazon app! When in need, one need only look for it on Amazon, make one click and get your item in two days max! Perfect for multitaskers! It’s too easy. It’s genius, and it definitely leads to unnecessary purchases. I love it!

Is there a particular project or work product you are most proud of?

As a new-ish employee, all the projects are new and exciting to me! It’s all so different and we work on such cool stuff, that honestly, I’m proud to be part of all the projects I’ve been a part of.

Describe your ideal Saturday.

That’s easy! Bikes, beach, tacos and wine with people that I love. It’s simple; but a day outside, near water, laughing, eating something spicy while sipping a great wine…I’m guaranteed to go to bed with a smile on my face!

You’re leaving town for a very, very long time…where would you dine for your last meal and what would you eat?

Royal Palm Village Wine and Tapas. It’s a packaging store that focuses on fresh farm-to-table food.  First, I would pick out a good, bold red from the shelf, bring it to the table, then proceed to order many tapas! Not to miss: the seafood tapa of the day, pimento mac & cheese, roasted blue cheese brussel sprouts, and because I couldn’t leave Jax without eating fresh local Mayport shrimp, I’d have to get the blackened shrimp lettuce wrap, too! ALL THE YUMMIES!
