Designing a Fun Campaign and Supporting a Great Cause

There’s no better feeling than completing a project and producing amazing results for clients. But it’s even better when you get to be a part of and support a great cause along the way! Anyone who works for an advertising agency knows that doesn’t always happen. Things move so quickly and a lot of times we aren’t able to see our hard work out in the marketplace. Luckily, that wasn’t the case for a recent campaign launch we worked on for the United Way of Wyandotte County (UWWC).

Let’s back up and talk a little bit about UWWC and its mission. United Way of Wyandotte County is a locally run nonprofit in Kansas City that raises funds and provides programming in three main impact areas in Wyandotte County: Health, Education, and Financial Stability. Annual workplace campaigns, grants, and other revenue sources currently support over 50 programs provided by United Way and its 34 partner agencies. Their mission is: To increase the community’s understanding of human needs and to mobilize resources to meet those needs.

We were approached by UWWC earlier this year to help develop and launch their pledge campaign for the upcoming year. The materials we produced were to be used to help secure donations from schools, companies, and other organizations. We were tasked to come up with the overall theme for the campaign, then develop a series of creative elements to support it.

In all, around 15 different pieces of creative were produced, including posters, brochures, a PowerPoint presentation, pledge forms, donation forms and more. Like we said before, it’s always a great feeling to wrap up a project and know you put your best work forward for the client. In this case, we also got to support UWWC on a deeper level by attending the annual Campaign Kickoff breakfast where the new theme and materials were shared with attendees. It was a great experience to see the fruits of our labor up close and personal and hear some inspiring speeches to kick start our day.

We hope we get the chance to work with UWWC on future campaigns and endeavors and look forward to supporting them as well! Learn more about UWWC by visiting their website.
