Meet Our Winter Interns

After a crazy and eventful year, Sassafras decided to continue on with our successful winter internship program. We extended an offer to four interns from the Kansas City area. During their time here at Sassafras, each intern is paired with an account team to mentor them and show them the agency ropes. Today we’re excited to introduce our wonderful interns and give you a peek into the program we offer!

Brandon Lobb

Brandon is a junior at Kansas State University studying Marketing with a minor in Leadership Studies. He is a member of Phi Gamma Delta where he is the Recording Secretary. “It has been amazing being an intern at Sassafras. They have taught me things I will carry for the rest of my life and I could not be more grateful for this opportunity.”

Christy Kentfield

Christy is a senior at the University of Kansas working toward her Strategic Communications degree with a minor in Business. She is involved at KU through Reading is Fundamental, Natural Ties and is a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma Fraternity. Christy is also a part of the KU Women’s Business Club.

“My experience so far at Sassafras Marketing has been so beneficial and helpful. I have learned way more than I could have ever expected. The people at Sassafras are eager to help the interns and guide us throughout our experience!”

Grace Crane

Grace is studying Marketing Management at JCCC and is planning to graduate this Spring. Next Fall, she will be going to the University of Kansas to begin earning her BBA. Grace is an active member of Phi Theta Kappa Honors Society, has been a recipient of a JCCC Foundation Scholarship, and has been named to the Dean’s Honor Roll. Grace is a hard worker--she is a full-time student as well as having a full-time job at Target.

“I want to thank Geoff and Jenny Holton for allowing me to be a part of their internship program this winter break. This has been a hands-on learning experience and I have had the opportunity to be a part of so many amazing projects. I have learned so much about the marketing world from the Sassafras team. I am excited to take what I’ve learned from this internship and use it for my future marketing career!”

Lauren Nafus

Lauren is a junior studying Marketing and Business Analytics at the University of Kansas. She is also obtaining her sales certificate and is involved in the School of Business Marketing Club. Lauren is a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma Fraternity where she is on the finance committee.

“I am so grateful for this opportunity here at Sassafras Marketing. I have been able to gain knowledge and hands-on experience that I normally wouldn’t get in a classroom setting. Everyone has made me feel welcome here and I’m glad I get to be a part of this team.”

These four students have proven themselves in this program. Along with assisting the account team, the interns are also working on an internal social media project for the remainder of their internship. With all of the unknowns this past year, we are overjoyed we could still facilitate the intern program and are very excited to see what these young professionals have in their future!
